Canvas views

Canvas views show resources and their relationships as cards. Use them to inspect a team, project, environment, or server, connect tags and shared variables, or prepare a new deployment. The canvas interface is marked Beta.

Open and navigate a canvas

Use the view switcher on the dashboard, Projects, Servers, an environment's resource list, Tags, or a shared-variable scope to select Canvas. Use the same switcher to return to the available table, grid, or list view. Coolify remembers your selection for each page and user in the browser.

  • Pan around the canvas and use the zoom controls to change scale.
  • Use Fit to screen to bring the cards into view.
  • Select a card to inspect it and open its resource page.
  • Use project and environment filters where available to narrow a large view.
  • Select Refresh to load current status. The dashboard canvas also shows active deployments.

Cmd/Ctrl with +, -, or 0 zooms in, zooms out, or resets the canvas to 100%.

Resource views

ServersResources on servers, with project and environment filters.

Where editing is available, Owners and Admins can move resource cards or groups. Coolify saves positions, and the related overview views reuse the environment's layout. Moving a card changes the diagram layout; it does not migrate the workload to another server or environment.

On an environment canvas, drag a connection point from one card to another to add a resource link. Select a link to label or remove it. These links describe relationships for your team. They do not create network access, set environment variables, or enforce deployment order.

Empty-environment cards can open the deploy canvas when you have permission to create resources. A View only badge means the current view does not allow those edits with your permissions.

Connect tags

Open Tags, select a tag, then choose Connect in canvas, or switch the Tags page to Canvas. Select a tag or resource to see its assignments and available connections.

Adding a connection assigns the tag to the resource; removing it detaches the tag. These assignments affect resource filtering and bulk deployment by tag. See Manage tags.

Connect shared variables

Open a team, project, environment, or server scope under Shared Variables, then open its canvas. The view shows variable names, resources that can use them, and existing references. It does not reveal shared-variable values.

Connecting a shared variable creates an environment variable with the same key on the resource. Its value references the selected scope, such as {{team.NODE_ENV}}. If the resource already has that key, Coolify asks you to resolve it on the resource instead of overwriting it.

Removing a connection deletes the resource variable containing that exact reference, including its application preview copy. If the reference is part of a longer value or is required by Compose, edit it on the resource instead. Missing shared variables are shown so you can repair their references.

Redeploy or restart the affected resource as required to apply environment changes. See Shared variables.

Create resources with the deploy canvas

Open the deploy canvas at /canvas, or use an empty environment's add-resource action. Build a flow from project/environment and server selection through a source, optional configuration steps, and deployment.

Sources include Git repositories, Docker images, Dockerfiles, one-click services or Compose, and standalone databases. Complete each step's required fields and select the destination before running the flow.

  • Save only creates/configures resources in Coolify without starting deployment.
  • Deploy runs the configured flow and follows its progress and deployment logs.
  • Reset clears the canvas steps and settings after confirmation. Resources already created in Coolify remain available.

The deploy canvas keeps the flow in the browser and omits secrets from that saved flow. Re-enter any secret fields after reloading. Resource creation, configuration, and deployment still require the same team permissions as the dashboard.
