Traffic analytics
Coolify's Rust-based Sentinel agent reads JSON proxy access logs and stores aggregate rollups for traffic analytics. Traefik and Caddy are supported. Collection is off by default and enabled per server.
Enable collection
- Open Servers > [server] > Analytics.
- Enable traffic analytics and review the restart confirmation.
- Wait for the proxy and Sentinel to restart. Traffic can be briefly interrupted.
- For Caddy, redeploy applications and service stacks after enabling or disabling analytics so their logging labels are updated.
- Send requests through the proxy, then check the analytics view.
Caddy requires caddy-docker-proxy 2.9 or newer. New Coolify configurations use 2.13. If the page reports an unsupported configuration or outdated image, resolve it before enabling collection.
Configure collection
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Top-N cap | Maximum distinct values retained per dimension, such as paths or countries. Overflow is grouped as Other. |
| Sample threshold | Events per second above which Sentinel samples traffic. 0 disables sampling. |
| Hourly retention | Days to retain fine-grained hourly rollups. |
| Daily retention | Days to retain daily rollups. |
| Geolocation | Enable or disable visitor country enrichment. |
| GeoIP refresh interval | Days between GeoIP database update checks. |
| MaxMind GeoIP license key | Optional key for downloading GeoLite2. GeoIP works without a key using the default database source. |
Save the settings after editing. Raw access logs are rotated on the server; Coolify's analytics stores aggregates rather than raw request logs.
View analytics
Use the dashboard widget, the global Analytics page, the server's Analytics page, or an application's or service's Analytics tab. The global page supports server and application filters.
Views include request count, bandwidth, unique visitors, and p95 latency with sparklines, a requests chart, status-code breakdown, a country globe and country list, and device, path, host, referrer, and browser breakdowns. The 24-hour range supports optional live refresh.
Traffic analytics measures requests reaching the supported proxy. CPU and memory history are separate metrics. For Caddy views with no data, check the proxy version and redeploy resources after changing collection.
